The Hipocryte Phelloship Project is a collaborative effort assembled by X:144, with X's production serving as the common thread throughout. Participating lyricists include 1-Inevitable, Ahmean, Klassic, Origin, Cleazy, Ra The Sun Goddess, Ms. Rie, and Swamburger. Guest producers Synopsis and Nemo contribute tracks. The content of the album is very strong, going full frontal on human nature, addressing social conventions such as conformity, money, religion, and responsibility. Standouts are too plentiful to list, but for a taste, check out X's epistle on "Individual"; Godz At Oddz rehashing religion; and Ra the Sun Goddess addressing equality on Hipocryte Phelloship... X:144's versatility as a producer is on display throughout, peep Free, 5.03.98, and Breath. To top it all off, X's Dad shows up to do a pops outro, bringing Common quietly to mind. Overall, "Art or Entertainment" poses a poignant question -- one which demands an answer from the listener. Pick it up.
