Therapeutic Writes Of Passage

Tonya Combs, a native New Yorker, declares dreams of turntablism and healing the masses. Her path towards becoming a member of Sol.Illaquists of Sound began in October of 2001 when she accepted her father's invitation to move from New York to Orlando, Florida. After not even a year of her new-found life in Florida, Tonya converged with future group members DiViNCi, Swamburger, and Charles Wilson III in downtown Orlando. Feeling that others finally understood her, Tonya attended Swamburger's activist-for-self group, Writes of Passage. Shortly after these meetings began, Tonya traveled to Chicago with Swamburger and DiViNCi in order to meet Alexandrah E. Sarton (Alexandragod). Alexandragod had formed NuGroup, the Chicago chapter of Writes of Passage. Finally, when Alexandrah moved to Orlando, everything was beginning to materialize. Sol.Illaquists of Sound had formed. Today, in between singing backup and occasionally lead vocals, Tonya attends Florida College of Natural Health in Altamonte Springs, FL. She is a skin care specialist and is learning therapeutic massage. "Being in Sol.Illaquists of Sound has helped me to open up more to what I want. It helps me understand myself and helps others to understand me." Tonya explains, "this will be recognized" and "we'll be getting the message out... more now than ever before."
